Sweet Pea

My Grandmother used to grow these every year in the planters along a cinder block wall. There would be hundreds of them in a variety of colors and we would go out and pick them to put in a vase to sit on the dinner table. We also went out and collected the pea pods so they could be used for the next years’ plants. This year I decided to try to start some from seeds I had bought at the local garden shop. They don’t seem to do as well in CT as they used to in my Grandmother’s garden in AZ.

Rose

This rose was actually supposed to be a white tea rose. Tea roses however are typically grafted onto another rose stock… the grafting on this one didn’t take and I was left with the original root stock. Not exactly what I wanted however it blooms profusely during the fall.

Morning Dew

Sandal got sick this morning and vomited on the rug and so I walked around after her in the yard to make sure she was ok… while doing so I noticed how lovely the morning dew was sparkling. So I got my camera and laid down in the wet grass…

Bobbin Lace

A lost art… I’ve never seen actual bobbin lace in the making before and came across it at the SOSA welcome tea yesterday…
