Butterflies Painting Update

Here is what I have so far… added the two new butterflies on the bottom and worked some more on the blossoms

Wishing It Was Spring

After catching the flu and then ending up pneumonia, it has been a rough two weeks… and at this point I just want to be well and for the cold/flu season to be over and for spring to be here… don’t have the energy to do much actual work around the house so yesterday I played around with the battle image and today I just wanted to playing around doodling and this is what came out of it…

Figured if I actually posted it on the NAPP forum boards and here as a project I might actually manage to follow through and finish it so here goes

Here is after spending some more time on the blossoms… I’m planning on putting two more butterflies on the lower half… Colors in the corner are swatches I’m using for the cherry blossoms…

Bit of Playing

It has been a long time since I’ve posted anything on here… I’ve been trying to keep up with the photo a day and with everything else going on which in January and February means wrestling tournaments… The past two weeks I was forced to change pace. I managed to catch the flu which my son brought home from school and then about a week later ended up with pneumonia which I’m still recovering from. Today was the first day I’ve manged to do much and I decided to sit down and play a bit in photoshop. I haven’t done a NAPP battle in a while so I did the 105th battle. NAPP is the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and each week an image is posted and people “photoshop” it to create an image.

Here is this weeks starting image

And below is what I did with it…

It was fun to play around a bit…

Went back and fixed a couple things like the shadow for the paint brush I had forgotten to add and I didn’t like the texture of the yellow paint above so here is an updated image.

Winter Wonderland

It was beautiful waking up to a white world instead of the constant brown we’ve had lately. We typically get most of our snow in February or March however we do tend to get a few storms November – January. The last few years however, the weather has been quite odd – warm one week, cold the next – casulaty of Global Warming I suppose. This week is a perfect example, Saturday was in the upper 50s and Jon was running around in a t-shrit outside, this morning we wake up to snow…

We didn’t get much but what we did get is wet and heavy so it sticks to the trees and bushes creating the winter wonderland effect which is quite beautiful. Downfall is it is a pain to shovel as it is so heavy… The tractor didn’t like blowing it much either – it kept freezing against the metal and clogging everything up…
