Winter Wonderland

It was beautiful waking up to a white world instead of the constant brown we’ve had lately. We typically get most of our snow in February or March however we do tend to get a few storms November – January. The last few years however, the weather has been quite odd – warm one week, cold the next – casulaty of Global Warming I suppose. This week is a perfect example, Saturday was in the upper 50s and Jon was running around in a t-shrit outside, this morning we wake up to snow…

We didn’t get much but what we did get is wet and heavy so it sticks to the trees and bushes creating the winter wonderland effect which is quite beautiful. Downfall is it is a pain to shovel as it is so heavy… The tractor didn’t like blowing it much either – it kept freezing against the metal and clogging everything up…

Fun Find (Photo a Day)

So far I’ve managed to keep up with it for 5 days… tomorrow is going to be interesting since Jon has a wrestling match and I typically don’t post those shots… I’ve thought of doing a shot of the 3 wise men from the nativity set we have since tomorrow is Ephinany but not sure how much time we are going to have in the morning to take it… Time will tell…

Had to go out to the wood pile today to get another load of wood to burn in the wood stove and when I moved the plastic sheet we have covering it to keep it dry a chunk of ice with some leaves frozen in it fell off…

Had fun trying to prop it up against some rocks so I could get light shining through it for some photos but was happy with several of the shots despite it being a bit awkward to take them…

Here are the two I posted for the photo a day –

Photo a Day

Last year I didn’t do to well at keeping up with my photo a day… but since I’m not going to have to deal with my husband going off on a 6 month deployment this year I’m going to have another go at it for 2008.

I was hoping to get the Lightroom plugin installed and figured out before posting this but it hasn’t happened yet… so will probably go back and fix this post when it is set up.

Today we took down the Christmas tree and this was one of the new ornaments for Christmas 2007… I thought it also was cute for the New Year’s Celebration. Happy New Year everyone!
