This was a historical fiction based on the life of a house/ladies maid in england named Grace. Grace at the age of 98 decides to create tapes to her beloved grandson telling of her life with the Hartfords starting with her arrival at Riverton in 1914 at the age of 14. It shows the vast differences in the attitudes between social classes and gender over the years. It is sort of a cross between Rebecca and Remains of a Day…
I really enjoyed this one.
